Curriculum Focus:
Our Montessori toddler program focuses on independence, movement, and communication through purposeful learning activities. Inspired by the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, children work with hands-on materials that help them develop coordination, build early problem-solving skills, and gain confidence. Activities such as food preparation, transferring objects, and caring for the classroom environment help toddlers strengthen important life skills while developing pride in their growing abilities.
Daily Routine:
Toddlers thrive when their days feel calm and predictable. Our daily routine supports each child’s well-being, offering time for movement, exploration, and meaningful interaction. Children enjoy storytelling, music, language development activities, and creative moments that encourage curiosity and imagination. Simple, practical life activities such as preparing snacks and caring for materials help toddlers develop independence and responsibility.
Classroom Experience:
Our Montessori classroom is thoughtfully designed for toddlers, with child-sized furniture, accessible shelves, and inviting workspaces. Children move freely through the environment, choosing activities that match their interests and stage of development. Within this nurturing space, little ones begin to build friendships with other children, strengthen social skills, and discover confidence in themselves.
The toddler stage is one of the most meaningful periods in a child’s life. During these early years, children develop language, emotional awareness, and independence at an incredible pace. What may look like simple play is actually powerful early learning that helps shape the foundation for future success in school, relationships, and life. At Heritage Montessori, we understand how important these first experiences are for both children and parents. Our toddler program offers a peaceful environment where little ones are encouraged to explore their natural curiosity while feeling safe and supported. Our experienced center director, dedicated staff members, and Montessori educators observe each child closely to guide learning in ways that support each child’s progress.
Between the ages of two and three, toddlers experience extraordinary growth in language, coordination, and confidence. Our Montessori classroom supports this development through purposeful learning areas designed to help children explore their abilities.
-
Practical Life – Practical life activities help toddlers develop independence through real-life experiences such as preparing food, caring for materials, and cleaning their work area. These activities help children feel capable and proud while building important life skills.
-
Sensorial – Sensorial materials invite children to explore textures, shapes, and patterns. These experiences strengthen concentration and support early cognitive development as toddlers begin to understand their environment.
-
Language – Language development flourishes during the toddler years. Through storytelling, music, and daily conversation, children expand their vocabulary and strengthen communication skills that support relationships and social development.
-
Early Mathematical Awareness – Sorting, stacking, and transferring objects introduce toddlers to early mathematical thinking. These activities help children recognize patterns and relationships that prepare them for later learning.
-
Cultural Exploration – Through music, art, nature exploration, and creative activities, toddlers begin discovering the wider world around them. These experiences encourage curiosity and appreciation for the diverse community we live in.
